We always hope our guests will have time to relax and enjoy the simple pleasures
that the farm offers. It is a working farm and although the weekends are more
relaxed we still ask that children are supervised at all times.
There are lots of places to picnic, walk, climb and mountain
bike. There are dams to swim and fish
in. We farm a variety of grapes, plums, spanspek and a few veggies. We are in
the process of converting a run down farm into a biological and then later an
organic farm. The original farmhouse was built in 1804 and you
are welcome to see the rebuild we have done.
The main cottage (Berge Toe):
This
cottage can sleep 8+ people.
It has 3 bedrooms:
The First has a double bed, the second has a queen bed with 2x 3/4 pullout beds.
The third bedroom has 2 single beds.
There is an additional bed in the lounge /dining
room. Outside this cottage there are another two bedrooms to
accommodate 3 singles. A second bathroom to
compliment the one inside the cottage.
The cottage has a large kitchen with an inside jetmaster
braai, a gas stove, microwave and fridge freezer. There is a fireplace
in the lounge and a lovely outside braai under the oak trees.
We recommend a maximum of eight for this cottage.
The other cottages:
There
are so far 5 converted labourers cottages.
Three sleep 4 people
in each and the other two each sleep two.
We supply all linen, bath towels, cutlery and crockery, the cottages are all fully
equipped and run on gas, with lanterns for instant light.
We supply enough tea, coffee and milk for you to enjoy a cup
before unpacking. Meals can be arranged as can salad, bread,
milk etc. We have a dairy opposite and children are welcome under
supervision to watch the cows being milked, and the farm milk is also inexpensive.
